In April 2018, guys that had not connected for years started reaching out to each other – we all know why. In May 2018, a group of nine former players from different Broncos’ eras started to envision an Alumni Association, to unite as many former players as possible behind the team. In June 2018, the Humboldt Broncos Board of Directors endorsed the Humboldt Broncos Alumni Association, and a partnership was formed.
Those of us who have worn the green and gold jersey have a unique shared perspective. We experienced the support of the fans and the community. We rode the bus across Saskatchewan and Western Canada, feeling safe and as one. We were and are part of the Broncos family. Now feels like the time to take a step together, with gratitude and in service, building on our proud history...
If you are one of the almost 1,000 former players on the Humboldt Broncos rosters, please join us! A full roster is the goal.
Terry Ruskowski said it best: “I really like what you’re doing with the alumni. It’s very important to stay in touch with the people you played with, sweated and bled for. I think it’s a great idea to help the community as much as possible. They might not understand how important they were to our lives…. Even though you may not be there, you know in your heart you are helping the community that loved you, that cared for you while you were there. Give the love back.”
